Opportunities held a Kickoff party February 27 at the Mellow Mushroom in Round Rock to get the ball rolling on the annual “I Live Here, I Give Here” campaign as part of Amplify Austin. This annual event is a regional donor festival to raise money for local non-profits. Amplify manages a large online giving campaign and for 24 hours, all money donated is supplemented by a grant from St. David’s Health Foundation.
Area-wide, Amplify reports $11,221,087 raised by 31,108 donors for 746 non-profit organizations. In our little corner of the campaign, we are delighted to show $6960 donated by just 48 donors. Although we did not reach our goal, we are so grateful that nearly 1000 meals have been funded by our generous supporters, whose average contribution was $148.
