H-E-B Celebrates 55th Anniversary in Georgetown through Donation Campaign

H-E-B is celebrating their 55th Anniversary in Georgetown through a special donation campaign. H-E-B has selected five charities in the community that best represent the core pillars of Education, Hunger Relief, Health and Wellness, and Social Services. The charities include Georgetown ISD Education Foundation, The Caring Place, Ride on Center for Kids, The Georgetown Project, and Opportunities for Williamson and Burnet Counties’ Meals on Wheels program.

For this campaign, H-E-B is asking community members to vote for their favorite charity by casting a vote at the entrance of a Georgetown H-E-B store by June 27th. To vote for Opportunities for Williamson and Burnet Counties’ Meals on Wheels program, print the flyer below and check the box for our non-profit. The charity with the most votes will receive a donation in the amount of $5,500 from H-E-B. (If you do not have a printer, feel free to stop by our main office in Georgetown for a copy of the flyer.)

About Meals on Wheels

In 2020, our Meals on Wheels program served 222,134 meals, serving a total of 1,925 seniors in need in our two-county area. Our program serves hot, nutritious noontime meals to seniors five days a week, while also working to provide extras, like hygiene kits, blankets, socks, snacks, and more.

In Georgetown, we serve seniors out of our Madella Hilliard Senior Center on 8th Street. Although the center looked different in 2020, typically this center offers meals in a congregate setting for seniors who are able to get out, while offering meal delivery for seniors who are homebound.
