4th Annual “Pull, Shoot & Serve” Clay Shoot Grossed Over $50,000

The “Pull, Shoot & Serve” Clay Shoot Fundraiser is one of the most impactful fundraisers held by Opportunities for Williamson and Burnet Counties. Unlike other in-person fundraisers that we have offered in the past few years, the Clay Shoot is an “unrestricted fundraiser,” meaning that donated funds can be used where they are needed most.

Many of our fundraisers solely support our Meals on Wheels program, primarily due to a lack of federal funding. Moreover, the Clay Shoot does raise funds that can be contributed to Meals on Wheels, but they may also be allocated to Head Start, Community Services, or the agency as a whole.

What is a Clay Shoot?

Our Clay Shoot Fundraiser was a 10-station, 60 clay shoot, and most teams consisted of five shooters. This event was on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 9am-2pm at Reunion Ranch. We offered games like the flurry, long bird, closest to the pin, and mulligans (for shooters to earn extra points from a redo shot). The fundraiser also featured breakfast tacos, a BBQ buffet lunch, a live and silent auction, awards, and a golf cart raffle.

Many thanks to our volunteers from the Sun City Rod and Gun Club for keeping score and keeping us safe during the event.

How much money was raised?

Attendees, volunteers, and staff all had the opportunity to participate in the auction or purchase raffle tickets. With the help of all in attendance, Opportunities for Williamson & Burnet Counties (OWBC) raised over $50,000 (gross) in unrestricted funds. This fundraiser was the most successful fundraising event ever held by OWBC.
