Opportunities for Williamson & Burnet Counties (OWBC), the local Community Action Agency for the two-county area, is the recipient of $20,000 in funding from Atmos Energy. Atmos Energy first donated $10,000 in September of 2021. In January of 2022, the organization approved an additional $10,000 donation.

Leticia Saenz, Manager of Public Affairs at Atmos Energy, commented, “Opportunities for Williamson & Burnet Counties delivers countless services to community members across their two-county area. Through our Fueling Safe and Thriving Communities, we are focused on fueling hope and growth for our neighbors, and continuing this vital partner’s mission to impact the communities that we serve.”

These funds from Atmos Energy are “unrestricted,” meaning Opportunities for Williamson & Burnet Counties may utilize the funds where they are needed most. This type of donation makes the most, immediate impact in the community.

As the area’s local Community Action Agency, OWBC meets the needs of local children, families, and seniors through Meals on Wheels, Head Start, and Community Services programs. The agency works to inspire generosity that prioritizes health, independence, and dignity for all community members in Williamson and Burnet Counties.

“The monetary gift from Atmos Energy will prepare children for school so they can become successful community members, transition families out of poverty, and deliver a hot, nutritious meal and wellness check to isolated seniors,” said Dori Yeater, Director of Development at OWBC.
